Yep. I nearly choke every time I think about taking in that much history and love and truth in such a short time frame. My head spins, my heart races, and I am simply terrified I won't finish 'on time'.
Why am I doing it? Well, to be perfectly frank, I have never read the entire Bible. I would wager there are books that I have barely, if ever, glanced at. The intrigue for me, besides the challenge of reading through cover to cover, is getting the big picture. All of it.
Why not do it in a year? Or two, or three, or even five? Simply put, my attention span is a bit challenged. I do best with relatively short and intense things than I do with long, drawn out things. Better to pack in all the information at once so that my brain can wrap around it.
I am already making small changes in my daily schedule to allow myself more time to read and stay on track. I am terribly intimidated about the discipline of it all, but excited at the prospect of finding out just what the Lord has in store for me.
I invite and challenge you, especially the folks I know In Real Life, to join in. I was so super excited when Joshua said he was in and would do the reading with me. How awesome is that? I love that man, just in case any of you were in any doubt. He's pretty amazing.

Welcome! I am so glad you have decided to read with us... it is truly an amazing experience. And, um, the shorter time frame is good for my attention span, too. :)
This sounds like a great idea, Aubrey. I tend to lose momentum when I try a longer term reading program, so maybe I could succeed with this one. :-)
You Rock! I read it through in a year a couple years ago. It was arduous. I love the Word, but wow did Leviticus almost kill me!
I'm focusing intently on one book at a time this year. Spending as long in it as I feel the Holy Spirit leading me to. Journaling, praying, listening...
